Does Doug consider the Wrangler a SUV? If so, I’m mortally offended.

it isn’t an suv if I can see over it.

3 twits and they got about 9 things wrong. SMDH

Not all Body- on- Frame vehicles are SUVs, but all real SUVs are Body-on-Frame.
That’s my hot take.

Damn, doug on attack mode

Fom the lead image, I thought we were talking about a Model3. What's that tell you, marketing men?

What do you consider it?

Car pedants = people who actually know something?

That’s never been entirely clear.
The XJ was among the first vehicles to be called an SUV, and the CJ definitely existed prior to that but didn’t share the appellation , so... ¯\_()_/¯
I just call it a Jeep.

People who actually know and care.

Shit, I’m still trying to figure out what the fuck “SPORT” they’re talking about in that acronym.

I was wrong: it was the original Cherokee, not the XJ.

By pure logic...it can’t be both an SUV and a crossover. It has to be a between an SUV and a NOT SUV to be a crossover. Crossover literally is defined as not being one or the other in a set of conflicting extremes.

pickup was already taken.

But you can’t do american sports without a gun. Like, any of them.

you don’t need a but gun for swimming

One would think, right? But this is ‘MURICA!

Calling a crossover an SUV? Maybe for the uneducated consumer. But not people in the car biz. That would be like if someone who makes a 4 door car called it a coupe. Inconceivable!

Doug’s opinion has been worthless for years but his lackeys love it.

It’s a hatchback, but it wouldn’t sell if they admitted it.

Can we just be really unimaginative and agree that (no matter what) it is definitely a Vehicle? Especially since we seem to have questions regarding both Sports and Utility let alone whatever a C rossover is these days (apart from a circuit inside a loudspeaker).

And by Journalists and Writers continuing to wrongly call these SUVs, the general public continues in their ignorant bliss and the issue grows larger.
Start telling them they’re minivans so we can hopefully get some decent minivans back.

It’s true. My wife calls Subaru Crosstreks SUVs a car that could literally be called a crossover
![]() 12/04/2018 at 07:58 |

I consider it an SUV. High ride height, 4wd and most have 4 doors (for JK and JL).
Older jeeps are just jeeps.

I vote for a new term: smushed hatch.
Because it looks like someone stepped on a hatchback and made the trunk area unusable.

My wife calls most CUVs sportsy which isn’t a word, but probably is what manufacturers want you to think when you see they crossover.

Dang, if only the lifeguard had been armed something something blah blah blah.
